Our StoryFamily Tradition
Quinta do Olival Velho was born from the passion that Inês and Francisco Ferreira share for the Douro region.
Francisco is part of a new generation of winemakers who, about 25 years ago, left Porto and settled in the Douro Valley with his family. As a great-great-grandson of D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, he became a partner and director at Quinta do Vallado, leading production and winemaking. He is now also the winemaker at Quinta do Olival Velho.
Inês has lived in the Douro since 2004. She worked in banking until 2018, when she devoted herself fully to the estate. Today, she is the heart and soul of the project.

DouroLocation
Acquired in 2010, the estate spans 7 hectares between Régua and Pinhão (Valença do Douro), including 3 hectares of old vines (70+ years old), and boasts breathtaking views over the Douro River.
The vision was to develop a rural hotel and produce authentic, terroir-driven wines.
